THIS WE BELIEVE

 

1.       In a personal God-- Hebrews 1:3

2.       In Jesus Christ as the Son of God and as our Savior -- John 1:1-3,14

3.       In the regenerative Process called the “new birth” through the acceptance of the Gospel --      

         John 3:1-7

4.       That the Bible is the inspired Word of God – 2 Timothy 3:16,17

5.       In the literal second coming of Jesus Christ – John 14:1-3;   Matthew 24:30

6.       That man is mortal by nature --    Job 4:17; 1 Timothy 4:15, 16

7.       That death is an unconscious state -- Ecclesiastes 9:5;  John 11:11-14

8.       There will be a resurrection of the righteous  dead at the second coming of Jesus Christ --

          1 Thessalonians 4:16, 17

9.       That the Wicked will not burn eternally but will burned up - - Malachi 4:1-3

10.   That righteousness comes by faith, not by works - - Romans 4:3-5; Eph. 2:8, 9

11.   That salvation is a gift of God and is not earned by any sinner

12.   That the 10 commandments are the standard of righteousness by which all will be judged -- 

         James 2:10-12; Exodus 20:3-17

13.   That the original seventh day Sabbath has never been changed by divine authority and that all Christians are under obligation to keep it holy - - Luke 23:54-56

14.   In the support of the Gospel through tithes and offerings -- Leviticus 27:30,32; Malachi 3:6-11

15.   In Baptism by immersion --Romans 6:3-5

16.   In discarding unhealthful practices such as the use of alcohol, tobacco, unclean meats, etc.

       proverbs 23:29-32

17.   That the forgoing principles are practiced not from a sense of obligation to “earn” any place in heaven, but rather they are practice as result of a consistent love for Christ as well as the desire to walk with him daily.  They are a natural consequence of accepting Him as a Personal Savior.
